Meet The Bus

Let me introduce “The Bus” – I don’t usually name my cars, sometimes we go out in the “Mini” and we used to have the “Honda”, but now we have “The Bus”.

After touring with the caravan for five years we decided to change – mainly due to the painfully slow journeys covering hundreds of miles at 50mph. Taking the Honda and a tent to France this year was a bit of a test to see if the family could survive in a smaller space without the luxuries of the caravan – we can (for now).

So the kids will sleep “upstairs” and we will sleep “downstairs” and we’ll have a drive away awning for the majority of the crap – It’s a whole new adventure!

She’s a VW T5 Transporter that’s been used commercially for a few years and now has a brand new professional camper conversion. It’s taken ages to decide on the type of conversion and to work out which details are important to us. We decided on a five seater with a double front seat that swivels round to face the habitation area with an onboard water tank, sink, fridge, grill and hob.

I’m looking forward to hooking up my solar tech and gadgets 😉 … watch this space.
